Mandolinist Linda Binder, member of the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra, brought this Breedlove mandolin into the shop for a custom pickguard. This is a nice example of a modification needed to facilitate a musicians technique. I was a little surprised that this instrument did not come with a pickguard but it was a pleasure to design and build this for Linda.

In order to keep with the elegant design of her instrument I made the pickguard out of solid ebony and attached it without any unsightly brackets.
